He'd left her once and had left her heartbroken for almost three years.
But then he came back. Offered his feelings and soul to her once again. And she was not about to let him go this time.
Because Marian Hawke was so in love that she felt like a teenager. Her childish attitude when close to Fenris probably annoyed her companions to death, but she did not care. Hell, she enjoyed it!
She loved being close to him, hearing his voice, feeling his touch. She used every opportunity to hug him, kiss him. And for some reason, he didn't complain about it either.
It wasn't a relationship only about sex. Hehh.. They did it once and not again since that time. She taught him to read, to trust and to love. He taught her patience and helped her get over the loss of her mother, after losing her sister and brother as well. They needed each other and they both knew it.

"Hawke… Would you mind getting off Fenris' back and concentrating on finding that cave the letter mentioned…" Aveline said angrily.
"Oh, come on…"
"Hawke…"
"Fine!" with that she jumped off the elf's back. "Happy now?"
"Yes. Thank you. What's with you nowadays anyway? You're acting like a child."
"Aveline, just look at her. She's in love. Let her have her fun!" Varric interrupted. "In return, I found the cave for us."
"Great! Let's head in and find out who's after uncle." Marian said, as she walked in followed by her companions.
Fighting their way through undead and spiders they finally reached a clearing in the cave, where a woman was waiting for them.
"So, Gamlen couldn't even be bothered to come himself? I should have expected he'd send you, Cousin."
"You have a cousin?" Aveline asked Hawke.
"I have a cousin?!" she didn't believe her eyes. Gamlen had never said anything about that…
"Gamlen never told you? I… of course he didn't. Why would he?" the woman seemed disappointed, but she couldn't explain more as a thug walked in on the conversation.
"Sorry to interrupt this touching family reunion, but we have unfinished business here."
"Veld? What are you doing here?" the newly met cousin asked in a surprised tone.
"Mekel is dead. That bitch killed him!" he answered, pointing at Hawke.
"What's a Mekel?" Marian asked. All right. She did have some idea of what they are talking about, but once in a while she couldn't hold back one or two terrible jokes.
"My brother! Mekel was my brother, and you killed him!"
"That doesn't make sense. Mekel was just supposed to hand over the note!" the cousin interrupted.
"You really think we didn't read it? We know about the gem, Charade. Hand it over. I won't let Mekel's death be for nothing."
"You let your brother go up against someone like Hawke for a stupid gem? You know what: I did find the gem, but you are not getting your pathetic little hands on it, Veld."
"Fine. We'll do this the hard way." He turned away and two dozen men came in, ready to take on Hawke and her group.
"Damn it! Why do we always have to fight?!" Hawke asked as she took out her two daggers and charged.
It was a long fight. But they won, with a few cuts, some of which were a bit deeper than they liked.
"The only time you don't bring Anders and you get hurt." Fenris said, while putting some bandages on Marian's left arm and abdomen.
"Even I have the right to get tired of his continuous complaining of templars and mages…"
"Stupid woman. Can you stand?"
"Yes."
"You are pretty useful in a fight. You don't take after Gamlen at all." Charade said as Hawke and her companions walked up to her. She'd gone through the whole fight without receiving a single scratch.
"And I wouldn't have taken you for his daughter, what with being able to fight." Hawke answered jokingly.
"I guess I should take that as a compliment. My mother, Mara… She left Gamlen before I was born. He was so fixated on finding that stupid gem; I doubt he ever noticed she was gone. She told me of Gamlen before she died last year. I didn't even know about him."
"Next time you want to talk to someone, maybe try knocking on their door first."
"Oh yes. That sounds brilliant. Just show up on his doorstep and say, "Hi, I'm your daughter." I doubt that would go over well." Hawke finally found someone to match her sarcasm. Maybe they were cousins after all. "I just wanted to see – I don't know – how far he'd go for something he really wanted. And then he doesn't even show up. I baited him with the one thing I thought would get his attention."
"He's got some good qualities… You might be surprised."
"Really? What do you think I should do?"
"I think you should go talk to Gamlen. Does he even know about you?"
"I… I'm not sure."
"Having family might be more worthwhile than you think." Fenris joined in. Well, Marian had stopped him from killing his sister, that was for sure. But the way his eyes were fixed on her. Oh, Maker! Did he mean her? Marian smiled at him and looked back at Charade.
"Maybe give him a chance before you write him off."
"I think I will. Having a cousin turned out to be a good thing. Maybe having a father will, too."
They left together and went to Gamlen. Charade and Gamlen made up and Marian was kicked out of the house once again. Oh well, what could she expect? It was Gamlen after all.

"Don't move around!" Fenris said angrily as he tried to hold her down while treating her wounds in her estate. He took off his armour as he didn't want to risk hurting her even more and he was only wearing light trousers and no top.
"Damn it Fenris, it huuuurts! Wait until Anders gets here or something!"
"Life won't always be so easy to deal with things using magic. And you are spoiled with it, so we deal with it using the traditional disinfecting way."
"You evil man." She said making a cute, sulky face.
"But you love me this way." Fenris answered kissing the tip of her nose and finishing bandaging her. "Done."
"Finally."
"Now I must lea…"
"No! Don't go!" she caught his hand as he tried to walk away from the bed.
"Varric is waiting for me in the Hanged Man."
"I don't care. He'll survive one night without you." And with that she pulled him onto the bed next to her. "Stay with me tonight. Please!"
"I see you won't let me go. Fine. I'll stay."
"Thank you." She hugged him and buried her face in his shoulder. She really acted like a child. But Fenris knew she just wanted to be loved and needed some attention from him. He didn't mind it anyway. Being with her like this has given him more happiness than ever. He felt free and happy.
She was his Angel. Someone who helped him out of the darkness surrounding his heart. Someone who opened him up, who has given him hope and love. With her he didn't mind acting a bit childish. Smiling a bit more, even laughing. With her, he didn't mind anything.
This is sort of an "answer" for this picture :iconemedeme: made for me as a commission: [link]

Anyway...
I hope you enjoy the story. It's the most random thing I've written in the past 5 years, so enjoy it XD
